The Diagnostic Analysis is a comprehensive examination of your accent, intonation, pronunciation, voice quality, and word connections. You learn exactly what you need to do to attain a standard American accent. All AAT analysts have a Masters Degree or better in Linguistics, English, Communications, or a related field.
This analysis saves you time and energy in that it tells you specifically what you need to do to acquire an American accent, and what you do not need to do. What that means is certain elements of your accent are just fine. You absolutely do not need to put focus or energy in those areas, saving you quite a bit of study time. The analysis tells you exactly where those areas are. Equally important, the analysis tells you where you do need to put your time and energy in terms of standardizing your speech.
The first part is the online placement tests. These tests include aural acuity, comprehension, transcription, writing and grammar, included free with registration for the Diagnostic Accent Analysis.
The second part is a one-hour private session with an AAT certified Accent Analyst. The session is an extremely detailed discussion. Althought it is closely formatted, you are welcome to ask questions that relate directly to your own experience. The analyst then sends you an 8-page detailed report that clearly delineates what you need to do to attain a standard accent.
The third part of the Diagnostic Accent Analysis is a follow-up class with your analyst in which you can ask any and all questions pertaining to your 8 page report, the textbook American Accent Training, AAT courses, or your accent in general.
You get all three sections of the analysis for only $100.00..
